TELEVISION AND CONSTRUCTION OF AN AMERICAN 'COMMUNITY'? A 'Latin-American'? view of America

This article places the development of the most recent community to be formed in the US, into the national political framework and the historical context of the media. The author highlights the transformation that has taken place with the movement from media with a strong identity to Hispanic television channels which tend to legitimize only the representatives of communities with a national status.
