THE PRESS IN RELATION TO MODERN CAPITALISM Max Weber's planned study of the press and journalism

In around 1910, a turning point in his thinking in which the question of the emergence of modern capitalism, initially considered in terms of religious ethics, was analysed through multiple objects (law, music, etc.), German sociologist Max Weber also devised a plan for methodical study of the press. After noting the conditions of this plan's formulation and failure, the author defines the relation that Weber seemed to want to describe between the 'information economy'? and the economy itself. The article contains the translation of the plan sent by Weber to the people he had approached concerning its implementation.
