By Caroline Datchary, Julie Pagis

This article, which draws on a survey of three networks of young alterglobalist activists, questions the “network form.” The concept of a network denotes both a particular mode of coordination and an ideology of renewal of forms of mobilization (that conveys values of heterogeneity, transparency and horizontality). The accent is on the analysis of the roles and uses of ICT underlying the development of these networked forms of activism, and on their influence on militant practices.
