By Muriel Mille
English

The author of this article sets out to explain how the reality of a narrative is produced in a TV serial with multiple episodes. She first looks at how this serial, despite its sometimes unrealistic character, seeks to create a style of realism. She then examines how the various members of the production team strive for reality, and explores the mechanisms and decisions based on that objective. Through the example of the changes and discussions triggered by an episode, the author shows how attention to realism is not only present in the production of the series but also how it produces a set of theatrical or technical questions and professional challenges.
