Talking Online about Rugby with One’s Peers

Online talk between supporters is now a regular feature of sports culture in general and of rugby culture in particular. It brings to light the existence of a “peer to peer” fellowship. This article starts by introducing the editorial strategies of Rugbyrama.fr (a website created by the French newspaper Midi Olympique in collaboration with the TV channel Eurosports) and comments on this socio-technical device. It then analyses the specific characteristics of online supporter communities, before focusing on their discursive practices (forms, dynamics, contents).
