THE COMMUNICATION BUNKER Towards an apartheid of circles of sociability?

The individualization of terminals - for mobile telephony and, to a lesser degree, fixed telephony - allows users an exclusive and personal configuration of relations with society. Each user can maintain a network of independent relations that is no longer shared with either family or friends and acquaintances. The author considers the difficulty of making new contacts in a context where cohabitation in the domestic sphere and in public or professional contexts is no longer capable of uniting people around common activities and circles of mixed relations, in terms of age, gender or cultural group.
