Between 2003 and 2006, two thirds of all French firms with ten employees or more in the market sector underwent change but only one quarter experienced significant organizational change. These results, which reflect the point of view of company managers, challenge current consensus on the extent and speed of organizational change which has spread throughout all sectors, primarily in large firms. The extent and complexity of these changes are often linked to the fact that they simultaneously concern several aspects of the firm: ICT and management tools, structural changes and adjustments of financial boundaries.
