This article analyzes cultural activities and sports practiced by children, which are often more stable and more sensitive to parental influences than children's culture. Centred on the study of the transmission of gender norms and associated practices, this work shows the significance of the sexual division of children's sports practices, which is itself closely related to the sexual division of educational work. It also brings to light the complexity of the processes of transmission, the influence of the media and that of peers, sometimes contradicting parental positions. Finally, the article addresses the question of social change?by analyzing the characteristics of families more in favour of questioning gender norms.
