This article analyses the way in which the fact of putting the song ?Bonjour Vietnam? on line participated in reconfiguring Vietnam's identity. The author examines the circulation of the song - promoted by expatriates - on the Web, and the various reactions to it. Some considered it as too naïve, others as moving. Cyber-Vietnamity is a place of contradictions and hybridization. The singer of the song is seen as a new social figure, a mixture of two forms of ideological and utopian imaginary, combining traditional nationalism with an anchorage in the modern world.
