This article, based on two interview campaigns with French-speaking fiction YouTubers, focuses on the creative universe that is developing on and around the YouTube platform. It shows how interdependent relationships between creators take on particular forms, constituting attempts by them to manage to their advantage the risks inherent in the uncertainty prevailing in artistic creation in general, and on YouTube in particular. With regard to the functioning of the audiovisual sector, with which YouTube maintains close relations, we are witnessing a transfer of risk management upstream. This leads to strategies and ways of mobilizing networks that tend to make the YouTuber a “micro-organization” or a self-employed worker who has to manage a business portfolio.
