Presentation

This issue illustrates the richness and diversity of the themes that Réseaux continuously explores. In the Continuation section, it returns to themes regularly addressed by the journal: sociology of the media, uses of internet, smart cities, and the use of digital technology in healthcare. In the Prelude section, it presents a new field at yet hardly explored by the social sciences: the introduction of agile methods in corporate IT departments. The originality of the three articles selected clearly demonstrates that this is not a top-down operation initiated by management, but that it is the IT specialists themselves who have taken the initiative in this new organization of work.

The first article presents Réseaux’s editorial policy and looks more broadly at the role of humanities and social science journals. Are they still necessary in the age of platforms? Are they simply a means of validating research activities? What role do they play in organizing scientific debate? Why does their work receive so little recognition?
