TRANSFORMATION OF CONTENT AND THE JOURNALISTIC MODEL The agency dispatch

The configuration of the media environment, press agencies and journalistic practices changed in the period from 1945 to 2005. The international media environment and the way in which the actors within it functioned, shifted from political regulation to commercial regulation. This led to changes in the format of dispatches (broader content, fragmented texts, multiplication of analyses). In the eighties the focus on events rather than description of context and explanation was succeeded by situational journalism. In today's context of over-abundance of information, journalists differentiate themselves from their rivals by adding an element of distinction to their work.
